Violence/abuse/harassment - Police can't act because there's no money...

I wrote a really long post. Then decided it was too identifying.

So what I'm going to ask is, if you and your partner have been subject to violence, harassment and abuse, from an ex have the police acted on it?

Despite physical assaults (x2), countless verbal assaults from her and her partner, as well as harassment via social media (despite being blocked), the police won't do much. Basically we keep getting letters saying they can't investigate because they have no money, and not to blame them - blame the government.

Only one incident was investigated and something was put in place following it.

The ex in question is my partners ex girlfriend.

It's awful, and I feel so exposed to what she could try next.

Anyone else?

Arghh, sorry no experience of this at all, but have you seen the Softzilla threads in AIBU? It doesn't involve an ex but the police did get involved and there's some quite good advice on what to do if you are suffering harassment/stalking.

The letters actually said that?!

I would write to your local MP and PCC to complain
