Hi ya. I'm new to this site. I just wondered if anyone wants to be a vent friend ? I have 4 children of my own and just inherited a hormonal 13 year old daughter to go along side my 13 year old youngest daughter. It's so much hard work and I need to speak with someone that is going through this step family situation.

I work part time every day and finding things difficult since she moved in unexpectedly in may this year.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone please Smile

Hey chuckie, no experience of teen girls (since I was one) - but there are plenty here who are happy to lend and ear.

You've come to the right place Smile

When say 'inherited' what are the circumstances? and how old are your children? - You sound like you really got your hands full.

Hi
Vent away!!
Teenagers are challenging enough when they're your own but step teens are even harder!!!

chuckie99c · 24/09/2014 16:46

She is my partners bio daughter. She had an argument with her mum and walked out of the home in may. She has only seen her real mum twice since then for a few days. My other children are 21, 21 (boys) 18, 13 (girls) and then her (13). I honestly don't know how to cope and have weekly counseling session that maybe??? help.

Here with you! I didn't actively choose my situation either and sometimes could throttle those around me. Vent away.

I have no experience of teenagers but feel free to vent away hun!

Hi Chuckie

I have a 13yo DSD (plus another three DSCs) and we've been having issues with her recently plus a tough year in general so feel free to PM me for a sympathetic ear if you ever feel the need!

bonnymiffy · 25/09/2014 08:25

Hi Chuckie, I have a 12yo DSS and 2 DDs who are 3 1/2 and nearly 2, so the other end of the age spectrum from you! Teenagers are hard, and we've only just started! and harder when they're not yours. I think being a step mum is the hardest thing I've ever done. You're in the right place for support, though. I don't post that often but do find plenty of good advice here.

Welcome to Mumsnet, literally this place and having a safe place to vent has saved my sanity! Thanks
