Have been living with my boyfriend and his son with my son for the last week while his ex is away on hols with her new man. We are all staying at their old house that she currently lives in (with her consent- were all very modern!)

Anyway the names this week have got hilarious! I refer to boyfriend as 'dave' when talking to my son and 'daddy'' when talking to his. My boyfriend does the same. My boyfriends son is 2.5 and obviously having a bit of trouble as he has on several occasions referred to his daddy as 'dave'' by mistake.

My boyfriend is clearly having a bit of trouble as he called me 'daddy' yesterday!

Most entertaining was when my ex dropped my son at the house after his contact weekend and when we said goodbye, my boyfriends son called my ex 'daddy'!!

I can only imagine the trouble we'd be in if my son could talk as well! (only 17months)

Looking forward to the fun and games when we move in later this year.

Nice to know that step parenting can be funny and isn't always full of consternation.

Hope you had fun weekends with your steps!
