Hi Ladies

I'm in a state of shock this morning.

I'm getting married in 6 weeks time and found out yesterday that I'm pregnant. I am absolutely over the moon with happiness.

No idea when I am due. I feel so stupid as I didn't have a clue I wa even pregnant(long story)

I can't tell a soul as I don't want anyone to know before the wedding.

What I would like to know is, is there a pregnancy bible, you know, one book that everyone reads? I need to find it ASAP. I can't ask my friends.

I realise I could have posted this elsewhere, but I kind of feel I belong in the step mums section.

Thanks anyone who can help me!

Congratulations! Best pg book ever (IMHO)

What to Expect when you are Expecting

Here on Amazon

Gives you a month by month run down of what is happening, common questions and answers about all kinds of things and advice on preparation. I had what to expect the first year as well, which is great.

This was my pg bible for both DCs.

Hi Babyheave

Thanks for the tip.

i've just found out I'm about 16 weeks gone already!! Given the wedding is in 6 weeks time, I take it is likely I will have a bump? I can't believe this. I did test after test at home and they were all negative.

I've got 16 weeks worth of homework to catch up on. Hope the book arrives from Amazon soon.

I was pg on my wedding to. The only day of my life when everyone wanted to buy me a drink and I was stone cold sober. humph!

My bump didn't show for ages first time round as your muscles haven't been stretched, but it all depends on body shape and the like.

foolio · 09/03/2011 15:59

babyheave, how pg were you at your wedding? I know everyone is different but just want to get an idea. I know there's nothing I can do about it now!

I'm 16 weeks now and just look a tad podgy, not got a bump unless you press it and it's definately hard. How are you feeling?? I've had no symptoms of pregnancy so feel lucky :)

foolio · 09/03/2011 16:46

Not a thing from me either. I just look like I've eaten too many doughnuts.

Congratulations!!
I went to a meeting at 34 weeks pregnant - sprog born 2 days later - 8lbs and no one in the meeting and half the department did not realise I was pregnant!!!

Where the hell they thought the monster was hiding I do not know!

WinterLover · 10/03/2011 10:14

What's your due dat? I'm due 19th August :) it's been nice not having symptoms as such but I still don't believe I've got a baby inside be despite 3 scans. DP bought the angelsounds fetal monitor so was playing with that last night as MW doesn't check baby's HB until 28w and we want to get DBD involved by playing doctors :) watching DPs face last night when he heard the HB was a heart melting moment :)

Have you told you DH2B yet?

Tootingbec · 10/03/2011 12:43

OOOOOOOH! Lovely lovely lovely news! My second baby is 5 months now and I having some pangs about not having any more babies (I loved being pregnant!).

By the time you get married you will be blooming with pregnancy hormones and generally feeling like an uber woman so won't mind if you have a bit of a tum.....

Congrats again!

foolio · 10/03/2011 12:50

Thank you all so much for your good wishes.

I'm due on 27 August. I can't believe I've just typed that!

How stupid was I not to realise I was pregnant? I thought I had fertility problems! i'd been ranting to one of my friends that my gp thought I could be pregnant and I said, do I look like 4 months pregnant to you?!?!! Fortunately she said no...

My DP is absolutely over the moon. We are panicking slightly about the wedding etc., but if people guess, they guess. There's nothing I can do about it!
