Junior sports clubs in Winchester

Hi there,
We’re moving to Winchester soon and have school places sorted for next term.
I’d love some recommendations for good, friendly sports clubs in the area, ideally ones that are quite social so the children can meet others locally (they all like different sports, so we’re casting the net fairly wide!).
In particular we’re looking for:

  • Rugby and cricket clubs with U9s
  • An athletics club
  • A swimming club
  • Tennis / padel options within easy reach of the city centre
  • And any suggestions for netball training outside school (my daughter previously did netball league and some specific netball fitness sessions)
If anyone has experience of clubs that are especially welcoming or good for helping children settle in, I’d really appreciate any pointers. Thank you so much!

Cricket - Ropley (about a 20 min drive up the A32) had a thriving children's group. DH was a coach there but some years ago now.

St Cross (outskirts of Winchester) also has U9s.

Both beautiful settings. Ropley had an excellent bar!
