Sporting event tickets and now increasingly tv coverage for sport is all pay for but increasingly out of most people's reach/budgets. Previously you could get reasonable priced tickets or at least watch it on tele for free. How do we inspire the next generation if they are being priced out of watching their hero's?

They go down to their local club & cheer for team there?

Even our local teams are asking lots of money for tickets to view now. And you need to be a member of some clubs to be able to view matches/games. I can remember being able to support your local team for free or at least children went free. Sport just seems to becoming more and more exclusive to those that can afford it which is sad.

I live in front of a park with loads of sport happening in it every weekend. Anyone can come watch for free & many can come play for peanuts. There's a lot of impromptu basketball & cricket.

My son's 'development squad' (footie) is free to watch their matches.

Can't remember my kids doing any sport where spectator tickets were not free or a trivial cost.
