What to wear under boys swim suit?

I have purchased an all in one swim suit for my 4 year old boy (it’s orange and I like that it can be seen in the water) but he no longer needs a swim nappy and the suit is made of very thin material.

Can anyone recommend what he could wear under his suit please?

Mine never wore anything under, but I suppose he could wear trunks

Nothing? Mine never did. The whole point is that it is the swimsuit.

I guess he could wear tight lycra type swim trunks under it.

Why does he need to wear anything under it? Do you wear something under your swimwear OP? Bit confusing.

Mine wear nothing under. If they needed to I wouldn't purchase them.

Nothing. A swimsuit is an all inclusive item of clothing no underwear needed.

My DS is 4 next week. I've been thinking for a while that he didn't need a swim nappy anymore, then the other week he had a poo accident at the pool for the first time ever. Thankfully he wasn't actually in the water at the time. So we will be keeping the swim nappy for a while longer I think. He has a reusable one which is basically like a pair of trunks with towelling material on the inside, so it doesn't look or feel like a nappy (either a disposable one or one of those neoprene ones).
