Yes and she was robbed!

Fullyflavoured · 04/08/2024 15:34

Bit of a controversial end there.

MrJeremyFisher · 04/08/2024 15:34

Amazing. Well done Amber Jo!

MrsMitford3 · 04/08/2024 15:35

Yes I wondered why if the commentators said they saw it clipped in slo-mo why they quickly moved on saying she won the silver.

Seems very wrong

I agree.

She was robbed.I've become an expert on so many sports this last week.😂

Topseyt123 · 04/08/2024 15:40

Yes, we watched it. Amber was robbed. That shot was definitely a hit.

Why do they not use VAR? On the TV slow motion it was very clearly not a miss.

😂 Haven't we all??

It just seemed when she raised her arm that there must be an appeal process and then there just wasn't

Because like most very disciplined sports, you do not argue with the referees. Ever. Part of the sport is emotional regulation. You can appeal and she did but the referees said no so that is that. In other competitions, they use video replay but in this olympics they don’t so it’s just on whether the referee sees it in real time (which I think is nuts but that’s the rules)

MrsMitford3 · 04/08/2024 15:49

@Noname99 Thanks for that explanation-must feel very harsh for the competitors/Amber.

Especially if they use it in other competitions.

Yes it is
it’s kind of the same argument as it is for other sports though …replays don't always clear it up as everyone then starts arguing about what that spec was etc and it’s slows everything down. But I’m gutted for Amber and for someone who is in the sport, I imagine that Crovetto feels it’s a bit of a hollow victory
Bit gutting all round
