Lots of speculation re whether Southgate will match Switzerland's favoured formation by switching England to a 3-5-2 set up, using TAA and Saka as wing backs. I think that could work well - Trent and Bukayo would have the freedom to drive forward and create, but also fall back when necessary to help defend. As always, it seems like it will all ultimately hinge on how effective the midfield will be. I hope he will give it a go, though. The flat back four isn't working and nor is the left flank Trippier/Foden combo, and creativity is stifled because players aren't making runs forward and so the ball ends up being played to feet backwards and sideways. [Edited to add: he switched to 3-5-2 in extra time in the Slovakia match but I wouldn't use the same personnel, necessarily.]
