They don't play as a unit because of the shit coaching.

A good manager (not even a great one like Klopp or Guardiola) gets them playing as a team. Southgate is a third rate manager whose credentials are managing in the lower league and the England under 21 team. He's done nothing to merit being the England manager (neither did Hodgson) and would struggle to get a lower half Premier League job.

If I was the FA I'd be throwing all the money at Klopp or Guardiola as with this outstanding group of players they'd guarantee success, ie. a major trophy.

I agree that Southgate is the main problem. But I think Foden is a bit overrated, because he plays in a team of geniuses he gets away with a lot. Was it Southgate that made him play every dead ball situation, or was he demanding it as his right?

As the stats show, Arsenal have had the highest number of goals from corners this season, but neither Saka nor Rice were allowed to take a single one.

And Saka was the only outfield player to play the full 120 minutes, and was expected to play in about 4 different positions...

To be fair to Forden he is not a left winger...he is not left footed. He is a 10 playing on the wing which might be why he isn't doing so good. Should put Forden in his natural position...move jude behind and play Gordon on the left.

Move bellingham forward and take Kane out of the picture. Then maybe Foden would be more effective. I'm still not entirely convinced by him though.

Well... England didn't really deserve to get any further, but I am glad they did! The 3 minutes that England got those 2 goals in, were more exciting than the 4 matches in total that they have played so far - nearly 7 hours worth! Grin

They need to buck their ideas up and play like they did in the last 35 minutes tonight if they want to get any further!
