Very sad news regarding the death of JPR Williams the Welsh rugby legend who has died of meningitis aged 74.
For those of us of a certain age who remember the glory days of Welsh rugby in the 70s, another icon has passed away.
I was a child then but still remember how exciting and fast moving the Game was and JPR was a member of the best Welsh team that's ever existed. He was also a surgeon, gifted tennis player and generally multi talented. And he never lost a match against England 😜

Yes.
Not particularly a rugby fan, but being the child of Welsh parents, I remember watching the glory days of Wales in the 70s (and listening to a lot of Max Boyce over the same years).
Some real legends from that team, who, as you say played alongside their training and careers rather than the game being their career.

Very sad, seems much too soon. He was one of the reasons I got into rugby back in the 70s.

I remember watching him, JJ, Gareth Edwards, Phil Bennett etc as a teenager too. Great rugby 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
