Tennis as a adult

Has anyone ever taken tennis up as a adult? Just wondering what people's experience of the sport is like?

I used to play netball but find it to bitchy.

I run the coaching program for a very large tennis club, we have beginner adults all the time. Look for a club that runs adult beginner groups - you’ll meet other beginners you can then practise with.
Don’t ever think you are too old. Our oldest lady is 84 & she loves it!

I joined a beginner adult tennis class at our local tennis club a few months ago , having only really played a few times as a child and teenager and then on holidays as a young adult. Sometimes I go with a friend, sometimes alone, but the group is friendly and the coach is really tuned in to our individual abilities which makes it enjoyable and I feel that I am improving. Highly recommend!

I just had my first tennis lesson last Friday….I get classes as part of my gym membership. Once I’m through the beginner classes they have improvers, fitness drills and match play. So far so good… loved the first lesson. ( I’m in my 50’s).

Yes! I started in my early 40s and I don't think I'd even played as a child at all. I had a few 1:1 sessions then joined a beginner group. I enjoy it so much it's one of the best things I've done!

I had my second lesson tonight and loved every moment. I’m 47 and haven’t played since secondary school. So pleased that I have taken the plunge!
