Can't find a thread so thought I'd start one nice and early for some pre chat.

Really don't think either England or Wales are going to get out of the pool rounds 🙁

I think you are right, though 'England' is frequently transcribed correctly. I suspect one of the commentators has a bit of an accent, and is pronouncing 'England' as 'Enger-land'. Something like that.

Not the greatest game for England, I thought. The two late tries made the scoreline respectable, but I thought England would dominate the smaller Japanese squad. Some very impressive ball-handling and running.

Almost painful watching France crush Namibia - it doesn't feel very sporting somehow.
We've been travelling round France watching the Welsh team - off to Lyons tomorrow.

I have a horrible feeling Dupont may be out. And if he is the RWC is much worse for it. He is an unbelievably talented player and I’ll be gutted if he’s not around for the rest of it.

Really? I am a great admirer of him, he is a terrific player. Against indifferent opponents obviously, but France showed how the game should be played. The ball-carrier always has options, there are players in support running the right lines. If England looked like a team that had met in the car-park, France certainly didn't.

Absolutely gutted for DuPont. Possible cheek fracture. Seems a bit daft to have risked him in a game like that. Benefit of hindsight I guess!

Very much looking forward to SA v Ireland. Hate to say it but really need the Boks to do us a favour so Scotland only need a minor miracle to beat Ireland and still go through.

Poor chap. But I bet they'll have him back on the field in a few weeks! Definitely for the final - if they get there without him.

We think France wanted to put on a try show for the home crowd, but playing their star players has come at a cost.

I feel so bad for Dupont - he looked so upset. Hope they work miracles and get him fixed in time to come back for semis or final. Don't get why they played such a good team against namibia or at least sub a few off after the first half.

I annoyingly have a really busy weekend so may miss England Chile but hopefully will see South Africa Ireland. Also having to miss Scotland Tonga but should see Wales Australia. Some important matches coming up. Love the world cup!

Dupont is the best player in the world right now. Imagine playing him in a nothing game. Or not taking him off 40 points up. This could cost France the WC.

I think the Boks will beat Ireland. Then Scotland/Ireland is like a cup final. If we lose I'll be supporting Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Would like France to win the thing for a change but I think Galthie has f*cked it up big time...

I also don't understand why DuPont played in the Namibia game. It just makes sense to rest your best player in a game that is essentially a practice run.

It's all very much abuzz here (I'm in SA) for the game vs Ireland tomorrow. Everything everywhere is green and gold. KFC even brought out a green (in colour, I don't mean as in eco friendly ) burger 😂

I see there has been some backlash about the 7/1 bench split again from some northern teams. Meh I can't get upset about it, it's a risk to take but I am not sure many other teams have the option anyway. And kudos to Rassie, it's a clever move.

I am glad we are mostly all in agreement of who needs to win tomorrow 😀

I'm working but watching the Georgia, Portugal game and quite enjoying it.

I think it probably should be a red card but for the game I hope it isn't

This is the one. Yes it's for Comicon which is on this weekend, but because it's a long weekend here as it's our Heritage Day, this one has unofficially also become the 'Rugby Burger'. I hope they will extend this one for a little while.

My ds is there today and said he will bring me one, just because. (He is so going for the Ghost pepper chilli wings 😅)

Back to the rugby The atmosphere is amazing here. I have been out today and everyone is in their supporter shirts, and getting stocked up for the braai (BBQ) to be done and dusted by 9pm.

Turns out I wasn't a neutral in the Georgia game, I wanted Portugal to win. Actually think the score was fair but still.

I'm looking forward to the SA game, just hope Eng do the business first.

Must be a bit gutting for the England backs playing in the last two games which were nearly all kicking and today it's all running rugby.
