Hello,
I'm starting up an inaugural women & girls softball cricket squad at Merton Cricket Club in 2023 to take part in evening softball festivals across various cricket grounds around Surrey (Banstead and Beddington to name two), and am running taster sessions every Monday evening in September at our home ground for anybody who would like to pop along and give it a go. There is no charge and no equipment to bring (just a bottle of water or similar); all you need to be is enthusiastic and willing to give batting, bowling and fielding a go. The 2023 festivals are for those fourteen years old and above, but anyone between the ages of 11 and 14 is welcome along to train and have a go.
You don't need to have to played before, you don't need to be a superstar and you don't need to know the ins and outs of the game: at Merton, we always put enjoyment of the game above results. You also get to meet people from all backgrounds and make friends.
