is the grass in football stadiums a lawn?

With so many people telling us not to water lawns as they will recover when watered - why are football grounds watered incessantly and where do they get the water from?

Depends on the stadium. Some is artificial, some is a mix of real and artificial. Not many big high profile stadia are all pure grass these days.

Maybe they're allowed to water if it's a business?
