CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds specialist referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals."

There was an excellent BBC documentary recently called "My Sister's Silent Killer" which is worth watching if it is still available.

If you have young people, particularly if they are involved in sport, please look to get them screened. Tragically my local football team, Tonbridge Angels, have been directly affected by this more than once in recent years so it is a cause very close to our hearts in this neck of the woods.

Thank you for posting this, a family friend died suddenly aged 17 on his way to his first day at his first Saturday job a few years ago and ever since we have been campaigning for CRY. It's incredibly worrying how many people have undetected heart conditions and so important to get screened at the pop ups where possible.

Thanks for the info on CRY. My auntie was heavily involved in them after her best friend's son died suddenly. I read a report that Eriksen had been tested and was thought to be fine, so I guess they can't catch every condition. But if they can save any lives then that's amazing.

Ready to watch Netherlands vs Ukraine now. Loving having three matches a day to watch!

@RunningFromInsanity haha yep! I skipped the Austria match to sit in the sun. I absolutely love my job, but for the next couple of weeks I'll be wishing I was at home during the day instead.
