Running leggings or shorts that don’t fall down

Beginner runner here but I can’t find any leggings that don’t fall down! I have recently lost about 3 stone and I’m now a size 12/14 but with a bit of a flabby tummy. Sorry if that’s tmi. I have 3 pairs of running leggings from Adidas, Next and Primark. When I run they just work their way down, probably because I wobble a bit. Has anyone else found this? What is the solution? Braces to hold them up?! It’s really off putting and stops me concentrating on the running as I have to keep yanking them back up. Any ideas?

I like the ones i got from Matalan

You probably need to spend a little bit more. Ronhill and Nike are good. Also asics. Try TK Maxx and do a lot of stretching and jumping up and down in the fitting rooms! High waist also helps. If you want to go all out, my sweaty betty ones are literally like concrete - they don't move a millimetre!

I am a size 14, and my nike or puma ones are definitely the best. Nike are a bit more expensive but the puma ones were really cheap at sports direct.

It’s a trendy brand but gym shark are the only leggings that stay up. Don’t slip or roll down. (Overweight with a flabby tum)

Growingboys · 19/07/2018 17:46

Nike and Sweaty Betty are the best by miles but cost accordingly.

I've never found any cheap ones that don't fall down but interested to see if other people have.

Decathlon maybe?

Nononononono33 · 19/07/2018 17:46

Ron Hill are very good. Available on Amazon.

Thank you for the suggestions. I might even try my OH’s drawstring shorts 😂 I’m happy to spend a bit if they work because I only need one pair as they dry so quickly.

I buy leggings with a drawstring inside the waistband, they're the only kind I can rely on to stay up, regardless of brand.

I came here to start a thread about this.
I have a fab pair of Nike ones but they don't have my size left, these are the ones:

Hoping to find some as good but for a fraction of the price! So I'm watching with interest Smile

Under Armour shorts - fantastic fit and don't chafe while you run.

TooTiredToBeCreative · 25/07/2021 21:17

Sweaty Betty- extortionate but worth it imo!

Donationwitheverypack · 25/07/2021 21:19

I've been running for 20 years. I've tried them all. I now never buy running tights or shorts unless, in addition to whatever they say about the elastic, they also have drawstring tie waist and a zipped key pocket

IME it makes no difference what brand or what they cost, if they have the tie they stay up, if they don't, they don't.

ZenNudist · 25/07/2021 21:20

I can only wear leggings with a drawstring inside the waistband otherwise they fall down.

My go to is good move by m&s. They cost £25. Good patterns as well as black ones and handy phone and zip key pockets. Pic of the ones I'm wearing right now.

Try Marks and Spencers - their gym stuff is great. Totally squat proof too, with a draw string (looking at you puma and your see through leggings).

delilahbucket · 25/07/2021 21:24

I've got cheap stuff from Decathlon and Nike kit and are they are both excellent quality. The Nike fabrics are thicker and the elasticity doesn't go as quick, but the Decathlon stuff has drawstrings and it makes all the difference.
On the other hand I got some addidas leggings last summer and they are already starting to slide down and it isn't weight loss.

Yes! Never fall down!
AuntieStella · 25/07/2021 21:39

Decathlon

They have drawstrings and really good pockets. Fabrics are good and squat-proof

Best VFM by a mile and good performance too.
