No one seems to have done one this season yet. Came on to have a whinge! Tagging everyone from 2016 plus EauRouge who seems to have either flounced or nc-ed.

RSILVERSTONE!!! YAY!!!
Anybody there this year? Hoping to go again 2018 if funds allow.
Lewis on pole, excellent!
Loved what Alonso did in Quali One, Grin
Will it rain?

FadedRed · 16/07/2017 12:12

Not sure where that R came from

FadedRed · 16/07/2017 14:39

Well what a race! Well done Lewis, never put a foot wrong all weekend.
What a turnabout. One point between them.
Bottas had a good race to finish second, and you have to feel sorry for Kimi.
And Alonso, what can you say? He just turns up, drive around a bit, then goes home. He must be beyond pissedoff.

FadedRed · 16/07/2017 18:59

Well it would appear that I'm Billy-no-mates on the F1thread Sad sob!
Or are you all still partying in Northamtonshire without me, sob, sob

blamethecat · 16/07/2017 19:05

Long standing fan but rubbish at keeping up with threads about it ! Really chuffed for Hamilton today hopefully will give him a bit of a lift going into the second half of the season. Feel for Alonso he must be torn knowing he is capable but in a rubbish car with limited options to comeback before the end of his career. Hoping to get to Silverstone again one day sometime provided we win the lottery ! Last went in 2008 Shock

GrouchyKiwi · 16/07/2017 19:17

Loved the end of the race (Lewis fan!), was very impressed by Bottas too.

Competition heating up.

FadedRed · 16/07/2017 21:34

Great race, not sure what Jenson was watching when he said it wasn't interesting until the last few laps. There was plenty of action IMO.
If Lewis can finish in front of SV at the Hungaroring, then he will take the WDC lead through the summer break, which has to be good for morale! And he has form for previous wins in Hungary, so I'm keepingmy fingers crossed.
Getting fed up of Vettel and Kimi's whinging.
Only been to Silverstone once, as a 'treat' after a bit of a difficult life event. It was 2011, the year of the mud fest. We were on the campsite and it was quite a 'challenging' experience, but would love to go again. Will start saving up for next year.

GrouchyKiwi · 01/08/2017 08:25

Hungary was a disappointing race. I read that Kimi was ordered to stay behind Vettel to act as a buffer to the Mercedes. What a shame for him.

Was very pleased Lewis gave the place back to Bottas.

FadedRed · 27/08/2017 14:05

Spa 30/44 WTF! Force India should get a race ban for that dangerous behaviour from both drivers IMO!

FadedRed · 04/09/2017 16:28

Good man Lewis, leading the WDC! OK, only by three points, but that's good enough for now. Just stay there, mate!
Not impressed by the Tifosi (?sp) booing, that's not cricket, eh? Was hoping Seb might have said something about that, but maybe not with Mr Ferrari listening.
Roll on Singapore, though not one of my favourites.

FadedRed · 17/09/2017 13:10

Singapore! Anyone else watching?
Well, that's a bit of a fiasco, totally Vettel's fault IMO.

DoctorTwo · 17/09/2017 15:08

Can't disagree with that FadedRed. I feel for the others involved, he left them no option. Great race from Palmer.

FadedRed · 17/09/2017 15:43

Well done to the rest of the drivers, especially LH and Riccy, handled the very tricky conditions and safety cars really well.
Delighted LH is 28 points ahead.
Don't understand why commentators tippy toe around the fact that Seb was at fault and should be penalised, otherwise he just keeps getting away with his unsportsmanlike tactics.

FadedRed · 17/09/2017 20:04

Well, it appears that 'no one is solely to blame, and there will be no further action' so say the FIA.
Who would have thought that Hmm

FadedRed · 30/10/2017 10:50

Well done Lewis Hamilton, four time world driving champion!

OberonTheHopeful · 17/12/2017 19:47

I can't believe I've watched the whole season without looking for a new discussion Sad

Anyway, thank you for the conversation everyone; I've enjoyed catching up today. Looking forward to next season Smile🏎 and must remember to look for a new thread!

GrouchyKiwi · 17/12/2017 20:57

Ah, I'm a bit embarrassed that I forgot about this thread. Blush

So pleased for Lewis; what a great year.

Hopefully the new regs next year will make things interesting.

FadedRed · 21/12/2017 11:31

Hi Oberon and Grouchy I was beginning to feel like Billy-no-mates on this thread!
Yes, roll on next season.
Now watching the FIS skiing on Eurosport, the seasons overlap nicely with the F1.
See you all in March on the 2018 F1 thread 🏎 🏁

OberonTheHopeful · 21/12/2017 18:54

Hi FadedRed, sorry I'm so late to the party Xmas Blush

There's certainly a lot of news about this month. It looks like Lewis will be staying at Mercedes; Williams have deferred a decision on their 2018 drivers to January; Jean Todt has been re-elected; and of course many rule changes!

Did I read correctly that there will be 21 races next year?
