I want a bike, please help me choose!

Have decided at the ripe old age of 40+ to get my first adult bike, take the plunge & cycle to work. Also eldest daughter is now confidently 2 wheeling so want to do some canalside, woodland track type biking too.

I have decided a hybrid would work well for my needs, want a women's frame, don't want to spend more than £400, but after that I am overwhelmed by choice. Any particular brands or models that anyone can recommend or best avoided? Have looked at ridgeback velocity, charge grater mixte, giant live alight and about a billion others - please help!

I have this one. I paid £325 for the 2015 version. www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bikes/fitness/ariel-int/115151

I have used it for everything - rides about town, a long charity ride and for off-road rides.

There are usually deals to be had towards the end of the year.

I have an Ariel as well and really like it

Just had a look, looks good and they do a step through model too. Thanks for the heads up, much prefer going on recommendations.

Am very excited about getting back on wheels Grin
