Well, that quali was a load of crap - wasn't it?

No cars running at all for the last five minutes - bloody joke.

Agreed, Lewis needs to work on those starts!

I too love watching the youngsters, they are still so gung-ho and take risks, exciting to watch.

Hope they get the qualifying nonsense sorted out for the next one, Bernie E didn't seem to want to talk about it!

I'm liking DC, Suzie and Mark but am taking a while to warm to Steve Jones.

Anyone ever been to a F1 race? It's on my list to do!

Steve Jones is never going to warm me.

Love having Mark there.

Went to Silverstone a few years ago. 'Twas a mud fest! Enjoyed it and would love to go again but it is soooo expensive.
Do enjoy some of the vintage race events though, and they usually have a few old F1 cars and sometimes old F1 drivers, so the engine roar is wonderful. They are much cheaper too.

I thought they all worked really well with each other , but I can see how some might not like Steve Jones style of presenting but I did like his 'that's one heck of a secret' when Susie said she thought Kimmi was secretly happy with his performance Wink

Magimedi did you find the quali on RTL this morning? I stayed in bed and watched the French channel on iPad with the R5l commentary. What a waste of time in Q1 with the puddle.
Lewis has got a battle to fight tomorrow - not going his way at all this season.
Ricciardo did well to get 2nd place.
Anybody heard what the weather forecast is for the race? A bit of rain could make all the difference.

What a drive from Hamilton today! So many problems besides starting from the pit lane and to finish 7th - fab!

The Vettel incident was 100% his fault (maybe 99%) and hearing him spend the whole race making excuses over the radio was a bit cringey.

Faded - I totally forgot about it Blush & just watched the highlights on C4.

Vettel was so unprofessional post race. Boring to see Rosberg win again, but I don't like him much.

No, I don't like Rosberg much either. He seems to very much be a toys out of the pram kind of driver. But I suppose they are all a bit like that.

I thought Kvyat responded very well to Vettel's outburst. He stated that he was racing and Vettel could have taken his foot off the throttle - both very true!

Magimedi Grin at least you didn't have to get up at 6.55 on a Sunday morning.
Vettel was soooo cringing! He never admits if he's in the wrong, it's always someone else's fault. I didn't watch the highlights or post race interviews, but would be interested on Kimi's real opinion of that incident - was that broadcast?
YY to Lewis doing well to get to 7th with a damaged car from the off, but hope his luck changes soon.

Well that's a pile of shite! Whose fault?

Report
CaptainKit · 15/05/2016 13:22

I initially blamed Hamilton, but upon further thinking (and listening to the commentary) Rosberg could have left more space.

Also it's a bit unfortunate Hamilton found the grassy run off - other parts of the track are more forgiving of an errant car.

Best news Red Bull have had in a long time!

Go Young Vesstaffen!! He's a champion in the making. Well done, you done young man!

I'm thrilled for Max , actually that's probably on of my all time favourite podiums .

I was cheering for Kimi but still a fascinating race. Wonder if Vettel and Ricciardo will be pissed for ending up with the inferior strategy?

I'm majorly annoyed that Foxtel (Aus) cut the Sky broadcast before the podium interviews. This is a pay TV channel!

FadedRed · 15/05/2016 18:28

Yes, Vettel was not a happy bunny and Ricciardo was spitting nails. Kimi was his usual smiley, loquacious self Grin.
Stewards have decided 'no action' for the Hamilton/Rosburg incident. Monaco should be interesting.

I had the day from hell, clearing the flat of DH's 102 year old aunt.

Came home yo watch (recorded) GP!

What a great race & I am ashamed to admit that when the great crash happened on the first lap I laughed like a drain!

Well done Max - & sorry for Grin (Ricciardio).

Wine Cake for your day Magimedi
I wonder if the crash hadn't happened and Mercedes took their usual 1&2, would Verstaffen have still had that amazing drive and been third, or would the strategies been altered iyswim?

magimedi · 15/05/2016 22:17

Thank you, FadedRed.

We'll never know, will we?

But I suspect a few year down the line we'll be saying (as verstaffen wins his 'nth' GP) that we remember watching his first win. He has a great talent & so amazingly mature.

No need to feel bad magi, I laughed too. I thought Rosberg could've left a bit of space and therefore deserved to be sideswiped by Hamiltons car.

So pleased for Verstappen after his promotion to Red Bull, it looks like their faith in him was justified.

Did anyone else find themselves a bit Hmm that Kyvat was demoted after one bad race and after Vettel had a less than quiet word in Christian Horner's ear?

Report
FadedRed · 16/05/2016 20:27

Hasn't Kyvat been a bit 'undisciplined' in previous races, though, or am I misremembering?

He had a previous clash with Vettel which Vettel obviously didn't like. But he was just racing, quite legitimately!

Report
FadedRed · 16/05/2016 22:36

Hate Vettel's whiney voice when he's complaining about others racing anywhere near him.

Report
CaptainCallisto · 16/05/2016 22:46

He's such a hypocrite! He keeps making these aggro radio transmissions during the race, then coming out afterwards and saying 'I would have done the same in his position'. Pillock.
