... and I am woefully unprepared Blush

This week has been week 1 of couch to 5k, I can only just jog for a minute!

I'm thinking that c25k will improve my running just in time for the course, so I at least can get between the obstacles, and there's a place in the park near me that has bars perfect for pull ups - I just need to get a regime sorted.

So can anyone help with tips to improve my strength? A plan to follow over a couple of months would be fab if there's anything like that online. I had a google, but nothing stood out, plus recommendations are always good Smile

I am not a sporty type, god knows why i've been talked into this Confused

Thanks all!

Good luck!!

You could google upper body exercises. Also pinterest have schedules etc

If they have one locally try a military fitness outdoor class. They are generally a good combination of strength and cardio training. Be prepared not to be able to walk afterwards though Blush

What sort of obstacle course - a bonkers Tough Mudder-type one with electric shocks etc or something slightly more sane?
I have done the WOLF run twice now with a group of Mnetters. I had great visions of doing upper body strength stuff and did start the 30 day plank and press-up challenge but only got as far as day 9 I think. In the end the obstacles weren't that tricky, wet, muddy, slippery, high but not impossible and I just walked round the monkey-bars so I would concentrate on the running and improving your general fitness, make sure you run as a group if you can as that was the best bit and enjoy the challenge :)

Thanks for the replies Smile

feetheart it is this: mudnificent7.co.uk/ I have no idea what the obstacles will be as it's 7 different races/companies doing a kilometre each. I'm a bit scared!!

Helen I actually don't think I could do a military fitness session Blush DP showed me how to do sit ups and other bits and bobs yesterday and I managed 2 sit ups and a couple of other bits. Today my back hurts a bit and my stomach muscles ache! I also can't do a push up at all...

I'm liking the structure of c25k though, so maybe I'll look up the plank challenge and some others and do a few at a time.
