Bike We've had training camps in Catalunya and the Canaries, eaten desert dust and limbered up in Strada Bianche yesterday. Some keen team riders have even been on turbos and rollers....or watched other people do that...which is the same thing really...so we are good to go!

If anyone is new to road racing, the spring classics are generally one-day events (but 150-200 kms long!), usually in Northern France or Belgium and are the hors d'oeuvres to the Grand Tours of Italy, France and Spain. Some though, like today's start on the Paris-Nice are multi-stage of a week or so in length.

The remaining UCI-advertised classics up the Giro d'Italia are here..

08.03 15.03 Paris – Nice France
11.03 17.03 Tirreno – Adriatico Italy
22.03 22.03 Milan – San Remo Italy
23.03 29.03 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya Spain
27.03 27.03 E3 Harelbeke Belgium
29.03 29.03 Ghent – Wevelgem Belgium
05.04 05.04 Tour of Flanders Belgium
06.04 11.04 Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco Spain
12.04 12.04 Paris – Roubaix France
19.04 19.04 Amstel Gold Race Netherlands
22.04 22.04 La Flèche Wallonne Belgium
26.04 26.04 Liège – Bastogne – Liège Belgium
28.04 03.05 Tour de Romandie Switzerland

So shall we roll out of the neutralised zone, and start sweating??

I'm an hour behind!

MrSlant · 12/04/2015 13:06

DS1 came into the kitchen a I made my sustaining giant cuppa to keep me going for the action and said 'what are they riding on, that's not a road' Grin. He looked horrified.

I love singing Mae Hen Wlad in the Millennium stadium, no one holds back! Normally end up with a few tears in my eyes.

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 13:15

Hello all! Just in time for the Arenberg Bike

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 13:28

OMG the level crossing! Shock. Playing chicken with a TGV train was not a good idea.

UnoPan · 12/04/2015 13:30

The Jensie would have stepped out and stopped the train.Grin

FelixFelix · 12/04/2015 13:49

Just seen the level crossing ShockShockShock

UnoPan · 12/04/2015 13:51

Gate-gate on

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 13:56

Jensie is commentating for German Eurosport today.

Looks like that fall has done for G's chances.

MrSlant · 12/04/2015 14:10

G not looking good at all, his heads gone down, I know that look in my boys, it's not a good portent!

Thanks for the youtube footage Pan, DS2 and his friends had come in to watch and one lovely boy was really interested and asking lots of questions so I missed it. That is terrifying stuff, their heads must be stuffed with messages to go go go to make them carry on in the face of a TGV. I wonder if there will be any disciplinary action.

I am absolutely loving this week and last week having Cancellara's tweets read out, he must be so frustrated to be watching at home.

UnoPan · 12/04/2015 14:31

I thought Wiggo was up at the front of the peloton, though the tv said not. TT skill boding well for him at the end?

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 14:47

Wiggins is right up there, on the attack.

MrSlant · 12/04/2015 14:51

Wiggins looks a bit determined right now. Go Sir Brad!

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 14:52

Bloody annoying Eurosport commercial breaks Angry

Marmite27 · 12/04/2015 15:01

yep, the level crossing was a bit hairy!

I know the cobbles arn't easy, but it must feel so nice on that tarmac!

Currently trying to spot Wiggo, but he's disappeared.

UnoPan · 12/04/2015 15:06

Wiggo still in the front of the bunch.

UnoPan · 12/04/2015 15:30

Velodrome sprint is ON!!!

UnoPan · 12/04/2015 15:39

after 6 hours in hell - it's a bunch sprint. Degenkolb is the man.

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2015 16:10

And many congrats to him Bike. You could see how much it meant to him.

Very exciting race, really enjoyed that one.

Next up, Amstel Gold next Sunday.

FelixFelix · 12/04/2015 16:15

I really enjoyed it too. Would love to go and watch on the side of the road one day.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 12/04/2015 23:09
