Help me choose new trainers for the gym!

I have finally had to admit that my current Reeboks have to go - there's virtually no tread left on them, and I'm slipping on the gym floor too much.

I went to Sports Direct and stared at a whole wall of trainers today, and just didn't have a clue where to start! Obviously I need gym trainers, rather than running shoes (already have some of those), but I want a decent brand, and something that will last me another million years!

Any ideas? Anything to look out for/avoid?

TIA

BTW - in terms of budget, I don't mind spending money on them - they do get a lot of use - but I simply don't know how to calculate what equates to good value or an expensive rip off!

ASICS and Saucony are both good. And i think they are true sports brands so you aren't paying through the nose for the name.

Ack. Saucony don't make cross trainers, ignore.

I have a pair of Nikes and a pair of New Balance, both in very bright colours. They are fine for the gym think I paid about £60 ish for each.

Thanks both.

Any 'features' that you'd recommend looking for/avoiding?

What do you normally do in the gym? These look like good all rounders www.newbalance.co.uk/New-Balance-711-Mesh/WX711,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_WX711_color=Grey_with_Fiji&start=5&cgid=203000

Mixed circuit training really - bit of cardio (exercise bike/cross trainer), TRX, weights, squats, lunges, planking, wall sits.

Reebok crossfit nano's would probably be good for you especially if you lift. I would love a pair as am currently wearing an old pair of converse to lift in!

They look good - thanks, Bex!
