Swimming with 12 week and 3 year old...tips/advice

I would love to go swimming with my 12 week old and 3 year old. Local swimming pool is lovely and have a small children's pool. However, i am wondering how difficult it would be with 2 (used to go all the time with 3 year old). Any one got an advice/tips

will they let you in by yourself with both children? All out local pools have a 1:1 ratio for children under the age of 4.

You will need to check their policies as all our local pools require 1 adult per child for that age.

My friend took her two to a private (gym) pool. I think having them both ready in advance and just putting them into pjs (onsies) after helped. Snacks were used to keep the older one 'entertained'. It helped that the gym had really nice open changing rooms with a play pen.

I'm interested in this too as I have a 2 year-old and am due any day now. I was hoping that I could get away with leaving the baby in the car seat by the side of the pool! I also have one of those floating seats for when the baby can hold its head up and as I have been taking the 2 year-old to swimming lessons from very young she is so close to swimming on her own (with the aid of numerous floatation devices) so I was hoping I could make it work.

I am also wondering at what age children can realistically swim on their own and if there are any companies that offer swimming lessons where I don't have to be in the pool with them. Anyone know?

Check their adult: child ratios for under 4s/8s first. I live on the boundary of 3 local authorities and non of the pools in any of them would let me take 2 children under 4 by myself.

My children both started lesson in the pool on their own at 3. DS at local authority pool with a teaching pool, DD at a gym. DD's lessons are provided by "Becky Addlington Swim Stars".
