Food availibility in Olympic Park

As they seem to have removed the relevant page from the London2012 website can anyone please tell me what kinds of lunch-type foods are available in the Olympic Park or more specifically the athletics stadium?

fish and chips, pies, MD, tapas, tacos, ltos of variety.

Massive, massive queues though. Prob better off taking a picnic really!

Best to take a picnic for outside- the queues are too long.

Can't remember the specific outlets in the stadium but I think one was called Asian. Food outlets just outside the stadium were roast meat baguettes, jacket potatoes, fish and chips, pie and mash, waffles, curries, sandwiches and others that I can't remember. Fish and chips £8.00, jacket potato £6.00. Macdonald's was the only place not overpriced IMO. There is another major food area up near the screens. Take snacks with you for the stadium. We were in the gods and no way would I have wanted to have to negotiate the steps if anyone got peckish!

Huge queues and prices everywhere but McDonalds when we went. MDs was busy but really efficient and seemed to be normal prices. We were there on a really busy day, wandered in, got served and sat down and ate it. It's probably the only time I would recommend McDs over other places. We did spend a tenner on Danish pastries for 4 of us when we first arrived and they weren't nice Sad. We packed up for lunch. I would say though, we went on a really hot day and there was nowhere to sit in the shade at all.

also, pack empty bottles, and there are water fountains to fill them near the loos, jsut past the MD.

Tiny burrito £6.50 and nachos with sour cream£5. Nowhere to sit if everyone comes out of the stadium at the same time, so sit on your flag with your picnic. Or wander to next to the water polo by the canal bit.

If you don't want to buy your picnic too soon there's M&S, Eat, Waitrose etc in the Westfield Stratford. Just remeber to take empty water bottles with you.

Planning on doing the same myslef on Sat night!

It was me. All tables and parasols full up, I wouldn't say there were loads, millions of people and about 50 tables? There were people sitting EVERYWHERE, the grassed areas were packed, the river side area was packed, all picnic benches were packed. It was 30 degrees plus with not a cloud in the sky and the McDonalds parasol tables were the only real shade available. McDs itself was great inside though, really cool, was lovely.

I sound a bit moany. Just to clarify, we had the most amazing day! Loved every minute of it but it really was very hit, sunny and shade was at a premium.

We got there at 3 for the evening athletics. No real queues for food by that time. I would agree and recommend a picnic if earlier in the day.

Lots of food outlets but lots of queues and not enough seats.
I paid £5:50 each for 4 hotdogs!

We got there at 7am and left at 4.30pm! Had breakfast before setting off, had horrid Danish pastries on arrival, were starving by about ten so ate packed lunch and attempted to buy a coffee(huge queue, £2.50, they didn't put the milk i and we couldn't be bothered to go back for it), had McDs tea at about 2.30 Grin, then had cakes in John Lewis about 4.30. Eatathon!

Behind the basketball arena there is a stage which casts lots of lovely shade. Near a food village with tiny queues when we were there! Second taking empty water bottles. We stopped at waitrose in westfield for brioche and fruit.

Didn't get to behind the basketball arena. We tried to sit under the bridge on the river by the dustbins but were moved on as there were so many people there we were too close to the side of the river!

Lots of food available but only McDonald's not overpriced

We haven't really struggled with queues too much but have always struggled to get seating , apart from breakfast if you arrive early

Breakfast options were pretty bad - microwaved croissants for £3.50 each, microwaved bacon sandwich (yes, the whole thing, bread and all) with no butter or sauce on it for the same price. Lunch options looked nicer (fish and chips, jacket potatoes, wraps, curry, samosas, pizza... can't remember what else!) but pricey.

As everyone has said, you are better off taking a picnic or going to M&S/Waitrose at Westfield on the way through. We sat in the Park Live area and ate ours - they supplied free Union Jack flags to sit on!

Ditto what everyone has said. Take a packed lunch or buy sandwiches on the way. The queues were horrendous!

No queues from the walkaround vendors selling ice creams, chocolates and cold drinks though.
