I think I mean Greenwich park, the one where the equestrian is? Was thinking of getting to the other side of the river and getting the cable car across maybe? But then would I have to get back on a train as the park is miles away?
Or maybe go after the event if that would be less faff. Hmmm.
Can you tell I don't leave the sticks often? Blush
Thanks in advance

No it's not. It's in north Greenwich, Greenwich park is at cutty sark or Greenwich. The cable car goes from north Greenwich to royal albert docks, dunno if it goes any other direction.

Ah. I'll cross that off my to-do list then. Thanks fuzzy Smile

It would be dead easy to do both, but I would maybe do it after.

The cable car goes to North Greenwich. The park would be a pretty long walk (guess about 40 minutes for an adult. 30 if you go really fast) and it not exactly scenic.

But it is right by the bus station. You can walk across and get a 188 (or a 129, although that takes a more roundabout route) and get to the Olympic park in about 10 minutes.

Duh. Get to Greenwich Park (not the Olympic Park )

It's quite a long way. See here The 'A' marker is where the cable car stops. The park is quite a way from there.

It is, but honestly, it isn't that far on the bus and it won't take long outside rush hour. I used to do almost exactly that journey home from work (North Greenwich to beside the Park) and would allow about 20 minutes. Most of that is not being sure how long it will take for the right bus to come.

Ooh interesting, thanks YLAIOD! I may add it back on my list in that case Thanks

I guess if you are trying to get to the equestrian for a morning start you might not want to do it beforehand. Obviously doing the cable car, and the extra bus, will add on time.

But afterwards it would be lovely. Come out of the venue and head towards the big set of bus stops outside the market. Just grab anyone local and ask them which stop for a 188 to NG if you get a bit lost. We are dead friendly, honest. Don't allow yourself to be funnelled by the helpful pointy hand volunteers towards Greenwich mainline/DLR station cos that's the wrong way!
