Cyst? Boil? Infected follicle?

Thought I had a bite, became very painful. Side of my thigh.
Red lump with red circle around it. Had it looked at by a pharmacist who prescribed flucloxacillin, now on day 4 of 5.
Attaching photos taken few days apart.
Today there seems to be a very thin layer of skin with yellow pus underneath.
Had magnesium sulphate on it daily, warm compresses, keeping covered etc.

I think its a boil with more than one head, which officially makes it a carbuncle. Its looking a lot better, a lot less angry. I would go back to the pharmacist, you might need another course of antibiotics to fully clear it.

The mag sulph looks to have drawn all the pus up to the top, which is what its supposed to do, it just hasn't managed to draw it out.

I don't know how you haven't popped it though, not telling you that you should, its just I couldn't resist it.

It has burst at some point today. It has been covered with a large plaster. I will go back on Saturday to see what the pharmacist says.

The temptation to pop it was so bad!
I think the only thing that kept me in control was the fear of making it worse when I currently have 4 kids home on school holiday.
I had a cyst a few years ago that was bad and when it burst I almost passed out. Didnt want to end up with something similar.

I wouldn’t be able to resist giving that good squeeze either, I’d want the fucker out one way or another! It’ll hurt and be messy but the relief will be immediate. Nail clippers are great for just snipping a little bit of skin. Do you have some antibacterial gel or wipes to clean it afterwards?

Also, send pictures. Preferably mid flow.

Looks like a carbuncle. I’m impressed you’ve resisted the temptation to pop it; I’d probably have kept prodding at it and making it worse!

When it burst there was only a very small amount of juice soaked into the plaster.
Unfortunately there wasnt anything good to photograph. Ill get a pic when I check it later.
It felt like burning in the night but there was only a miniscule amount of orange pus on the gauze this morning.
Is it possible that the surface sac was all the stuff that is going to come out of it?
I redressed it early hours of the morning because the burning sensation was keeping me awake.
