Dogs burst abscess 😲

My springer had seemingly hurt himself but there were no outward injuries. Helped him up onto my bed and he yelped a little and started licking his groin......what followed was a disgusting odour and pools of blood and pus all over my bed sheets!! It was never ending.
A vets trip confirmed an abscess with now 2 fingernail sized holes in his abdomen and his genitals 3 times the size they were.
Thankfully on the mend and no worse for his experience bless him!

Poor dog and poor you. Many years ago our poodle was really ill, not eating lethargic. It was Christmas and vet not available (the 70s) I was stroking her and suddenly something on her chest popped. A stream of gunk poured forth. Oh the smell. But glorious.She'd had a tick(Australia so summer) which had broken off at the head and infection set in. She bounced back quickly. Lots of bathing in warm salt water. Your duvet cover may be doomed though.

I had something similar with a cat years ago. She had s bump on her head do I carted her off to the vets. As the vet lifted her out of her box she struggled and knocked the bump , causing an abscess to burst all over the vet and me. It stank.

Same. I remember our old cat standing at the top of the stairs, scratched his ear and he burst an abscess we didn’t know he had and the pus shot down the stairs and hit the wall. Poor cat must have felt awful. I remember scooping him up and carting him off to the vet and he felt really sorry for himself.

Poor doggo. It’s horrible when our pets are ill.
