Definitely looks like a tick, you can check by looking right at the base where it’s attached to the dog, it will have legs,easy to remove with a relatively inexpensive tool but make sure to do it properly and don’t leave the head in

Agreed - looks like a tick. Get a tick twister for a few pounds from a pet shop or Amazon.

I’ve removed a tic before by covering it in liquid soap (obv don’t do that If dog could lick the spot) apparently it suffocates them.

It seems to be under the skin, sorry if that wasn’t clear. It’s also been there a few weeks

It looks more like some sort of wart to me. Fgs don’t try removing it unless you’re absolutely sure it’s a tick! Once when our dog was being looked after while we were on holiday, the lady with the best of intentions removed what she thought was a tick from his ear. Took quite a while to heal, and ears are well supplied with blood… looked like Game of Thrones in the utility room in the morning after he’d done his wake up shake and ear flap.😂

Shes due for a health check, I’ll get it looked at and won’t poke it.

A cautionary tale: I once spent a long time trying to remove what turned out to be a nipple from my dog. He did forgive me eventually. In my defence we'd had a week of several ticks per day, he had very long fur and as we'd only had him a few weeks I hadn't cottoned on that he had as many nipples as he does....

My friend's dog had similar a couple of weeks ago. I thought it looked like a tick but it was some sort of a spot in the end as my friend said it burst one day and all this pus came out. I asked if she took pictures but she just looked at me in disgust. 😂

I bet it's a skin tag! My dog had one and I tried to remove it thinking it was a tic and I was very sorry when it bled a lot 😬

I was all set to remove a skin tag with a tick remover. It looked much more like a tick than the OP’s picture did! I also upset him trying to clean up a blackhead that was in fact a dirty nipple.

Are you sure it's not a nipple? One of mine has one that's right up by her front leg, we only found it when she came into season for the first time.

Yes, 8-10 of them on average!

Vet says it’s a cyst and to leave it alone, if it bursts I’ll take a photo

It's not a tick , that is his own skin , be it nipple , or skin condition wart , tag , cyst etc .
