Had my thyroid removed 10 days ago, the drain failed so I had to go back to surgery for an emergency procedure to drain the collection of blood and fluid from my neck. Was discharged on Friday and my neck has slowly been growing day by day.
I looked at it this morning and packed an overnight bag knowing full well I’m not going home today! So off I went to A&E, immediately triaged into resus.
I have had 3 bags of antibiotics and some pain relief. Tomorrow is the bit I’m looking forward to / nervous about. They’ll be draining my neck abscess under ultrasound.
