Lump on finger

Had a lump on finger for 2 years now, saw GP who referred to hospital, who said it’s a cyst and booked me in for aspiration with ultrasound. Who said it’s not a cyst, looks like skin but can’t say, and have sent me back to GP. So what could it be?

Looks like a wart to me.

It does but 2 Drs, a nurse practitioner and now the ultrasound person haven’t said that? Can u get under the skin warts?

Thought it looked like a ganglion cyst. harmless fluid-filled lump that usually appears near a joint. This isn't a pic of mine but looks the same. Mine is a hard lump so maybe mine it isn't one

That's a ganglion - harmless unless you either try to pop it or in my case it just decides to erupt! I've had to have surgery to remove the (tiny) bone spur which caused it (due to arthritis which begins in your fingers when you're in your 30s).

Seems a bit odd that the 2 Drs, nurse and hospital didn't know what OPs lump was.

I can’t believe people go to the Dr for this.

So it’s definitely not bone (had X-ray) and definitely not fluid (had ultrasound). Not a ganglion or cyst. Or a wart unless we think lots of medical professionals can’t identify a wart?

Following with interest as I have something very similar looking on the inside of my wrist.

I had one of these that was identified as a ganglion cyst. It eventually disappeared shortly after I started taking omega 3 supplement. It might be just a coincidence but it's not reappeared since!

I’ve got one of them too!! I’ve dug around in it lots, even tried to freeze it off. It also gets painful when knocked. It’s def just skin. Had it about 20 years

My son has this spot on his finger any ideals?
