Deep blackheads

my DP has some very deep blackheads in his nose which have been there for as long as he can remember. He would like me and Mumsnet to rid him of them once and for all. Advice please

Short and painful way- hot flannel and lots of squeezing/digging about.
Long, gentle way-salicylic acid cleanser and nightly application of azelaic acid.

The trouble with deep digging is that it might leave a hole, which would be particularly visible, being on his nose.

Get one of these! DD and I use them to squeeze blackheads out safely.

I have a friend who has two massive blackheads on her face that have been there for ages. Does she not seem them? Does she think they’ll just vanish? Why don’t people get on and give them a squeeze?

Seek professional help. I did this as a teen it just left holes that filled up again for many years. Over the years as an adult it just seemed to eventually stop

Can I join the queue of volunteers please? I will bring my rusty old nail scissors. My plan is to poke the sharp tip into the blackheads you have identified as requiring removal, waggle it around, and then release the gunge with a pair of old cotton knickers that have a good grip. Don't worry I will poke the tip of the scissors in a bar of soap first for hygiene. Knickers will be clean. I can video if required. Might need another volunteer for that. How is he with pain?

Tea tree face mask stick. Can get it from Amazon, if you watch the videos it exagerates they don't come out like that lol. But it brings them more to the surface, if you gently exfoliate when washing they come out. I would definitely recommend it, leaves skin so soft to

Biore blackhead removal nose strips were always sooooo satisfying on my DH! You’ve inspired me to get some again! Need a product to close up the pores after…. Or just let them refill and get the satisfaction again

The blackhead strips don’t always work for deep/large blackheads but it’s worth a try

He’s a total wuss with pain. He’s away with work until tomorrow night but I want to start this weekend.

Okay we're going to need tie him up and get him in a head brace and/ or to drug him.

A week of gentle non foaming cleansing twice a day, BHA exfoliant twice a day, then steam and clay mask and then get them out with a blackhead remover like the one in This kit. They’ll slip out with minimal pain. Then continue the skincare regime long term. You will have to repeat the process regularly.
