Round raw patch of skin on arm- what is this?

So this started on Friday as I was driving home from work, felt like my skin was burning, almost as if I’d got something on it! Or the start of sunburn! Then this round patch of purely raw skin appeared just below my elbow. Today (Monday) it has scabbed over. My first suspicion would be ringworm but it’s not itchy!

any ideas?!

I had one of them last year. It looked like someone had stubbed a cigar out on my leg. It took weeks to go and I've no idea what caused it.

Shingles?

I’ve never heard of this before! But I don’t think so as no flu like symptoms or any other rashes

Ringworm isn't always itchy.

Sunburn through the window?

OldCottageGreenhouse · 14/04/2025 21:48

That looks like either chafing or a carpet burn

My daughter had this during lockdown. She didn't really get much more of a rash or other symptoms but the doctor knew what it was straight away and have her cream that cleared it

Impetigo?

It looks like a graze of some sort.

Years ago I dabbed some tea tree oil on a spot on my face. Hours later I went for a walk, it was hot and sunny. Suddenly I felt my face burning. Luckily I found an outside tap to splash my face, but a burn similar to yours appeared. Could it be something like a chemical burn?
