Ear wax!

Just took my 16 year old to have her ears suctioned as I could see they were chock full of wax (tiny ear canals).

Where did you go and how much, I’m in the middle of trying to clear mine with ear drops from drs, blood pressure gone up, pain dizziness

Our local surgery has a clear2hear business in it, £65 for both ears!

That’s nothing, my son’s ears at 6 years old, he had constant ear infections, saw private ENT, the wax looked like coal, I am not kidding, when the ENT specialist pulled it out with the hook.

Thank you all for replies I’m dealing with high blood pressure now waiting to contact dr early next week to find out wether the buzzing I hear in the waxed up ear is anything to worry about still using the sodium bicarbonate drops don’t think it’s doing a lot but obv need to use another day

I have some kind of deformity in my left ear which means that the wax does not work its way out very easily. One day the whole ear stopped working. On my third visit to the ENT doctor using and various softening unguents for two weeks, he was able to pull out a lump that was the size and colour of a cigarette butt.

It also hurt like hell, and it is still quite painful when I go back every 6 months to have this ear cleaned out mechanically. I recently discovered that this the pain i caused by the lump of wax being pulled away from a large number of tiny hairs. Honestly, the first time, I thought that either my eardrum was going to pop out with the wax, or perhaps that whatever probe the doctor was using was being shoved into my brain.

I’m loving the posts saying “well this is nothing, you should have seen…”

I think we need more photos to back these claims up!
