Split in lip won't heal

Apologies if this isn't the right place but if it's something skin related I figured if anyone knows.....lol

I've had a split in my top lip for nearly a month and it's driving me nuts! I've managed to get a GP appointment in a couple of days but in the meantime if you lovely people have any ideas how to treat/get rid/what it might be please do chip in ☺️

Blistex healing cream if you can get it, or any cream with the highest concentration of urea that you can get.

Also, try new skin liquid plaster or butterfly plasters, it's possibly not healing because when you move your mouth its splitting open again? So you need to try to hold it closed long enough for it to heal.

I second Blistex, there are several variants but the one I use for bad cracks is the Relief Cream. Works like magic.

try a little canesten thrush cream (like grain of rice amount) on it overnight. Is it in the corner of your lips or the middle?

I also came to say canesten- especially if the crack is at corner. Used to suffer with this from time to time in my 20s. Alternate a dab of that with blistex or if you have any, lansinoh nipple cream which is also great for a crack if it not fungal.

Take zinc (50mg) and vit c - can help

I’ve been using O'Keeffe's Lip Repair Overnight and it’s working really well. Bought from Amazon.
I tried lanolin lip balm which was ok but didn’t do as good a job as the O’Keeffe’s

DS gets really bad chapped and cracked lips. We also use O'Keeffe's lip repair. The little tubs are better than the sticks. It works really quickly.
Their hand and foot cream are fab too.

I get cracks in the corner of my mouth if I am low on vitamin B12.
ive just taken the last complex Vitamin B capsule so thank you for the reminder!

Consider changing your toothpaste, too. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (I think) can irritate your mouth. I don't colgate or anything whitening to be the worst cuplrits.
