Awkward Cyst

I need to tell someone about this as my husband is less than impressed 🤷🏻‍♀️ I felt a little lump in the fold of my inner thigh.... it slowly grew to a massive size then started to hurt, really hurt.. went to dr it's infected. Started anti bs. Today pain reached a crescendo. I was crying on the toilet when I felt it crack.. literal river of pus going down my leg.. it was like thick, pink, yellow egg yolk consistency slime. It smelt like someone who's been dead for a week. It's still oozing.... it's in a really awkward place. It's now a raw welt with a hole in it. How do I get it to heal fast!!??

I'd wash it with boiled and cooled salted water. Then cover it with a dressing while you sleep. Wash it again in hand-hot salted water when you get up.

Leave it open to the air whenever you can, at home, Cover it when dressed.

Can you soak in a hot salted bath? Anything you can do to open the pores and let any infection come out.

Ask your dh to sleep elsewhere if he cannot be supportive.

cooled boiled kettle water salt and cotton wool pads .In future as gross as it sounds if you find a small cyst burst it before it becomes a problem .I found one on my thigh the other day so gross but it was small so not a issue

Oooh that sounds stunning. I would go to the doctor to get it properly dressed or see if you can buy really massive plasters online. When my cyst burst they took it seriously. I had to go to the view to have it dressed every 2 days for a while then they gave me huge plasters.

Go to the nurse to have it dressed

I'd have burst that fucker open one way or another but I'm a picker.

I'd clean it then try to air it as much as possible.

He's very squeamish. Unlike me! If it wasn't so painful I'd have enjoyed it 😂😂 I've bathed it in salt water and put a dressing on it. It's oozing clear blood stained fluid now. I'm normally a squeezer as well but it literally went from tiny bump to massive infected painful huge lump overnight.

Just keep it covered. You are on antibiotics so that will cure/prevent further infection. If you get any spreading redness down your leg, it starts oozing/smelling or you begin to feel unwell in yourself go back to the surgery.

Can you get steri strips and keep it dressed?

I've got sterile dressing pads. Cleaning it with saline 3 x a day so hopefully that'll help. Steri strips is a good shout thanks xx

Excellent pic 👍 looks clean and as others have said, wash with salt water and keep a dressing on. If discharge increases or it starts to smell go back to gp
