Pilondial sinus

I've been experiencing irritation between my bum cheeks for the last few weeks, which has now started to properly hurt. With the aid of a magnifying mirror and some contortions, I managed to figure out that I have a fissure right at the top of my bum crack. Dr Google informs me that it is a pilondial sinus.

Anyone any experience of these?? Or any ideas of how to deal with it without turning up to the GP & presenting my arse for inspection?

He must have been so sore. If I were him, I would have definitely appreciated the photos, as it's not something you could see yourself.

I've have 3 of these bastards. Absolutely the worst pain I've ever experienced above labour, felt like stabbing knives in coccyx. The final one was removed by surgery and took months to heal with daily district nurse visits.
I hope it's not one of these. I do suffer with moisture lesions every now and again now at the scar tissue, at least this is is easy to heal.

I had a pilonidal sinus operation when I was in my early 20's. My understanding was that it was rather extensive by all accounts. I was off work for over 2 months to recover. The wound was so large I had to have it packed daily with a special product that went into the wound as a liquid mix which then set solid (rubbery) and the wound hole slowly reduced over time. Happy days!

Does it just look like a split? I've had that before and it wasn't anything major just literally the skin was a bit thin and had torn. Incredibly sore but it healed fine

Sorry to hijack, and sorry to be gross (but I guess this is the right place) but sometimes I get what I think is a “greasy” discharge from between my bum cheeks but closer to the top of my bum crack. It smells awful. It gets really sore then disappears. Does this sound like a cyst?

Long term suffering PS gal here! Yeah I started with discharge over the years and stuff. Eventually when i was pregnant it came to light and I got a horrible abscess and have to have an incision and drain. Twice. Was very sick and the infection came very fast! Always feel medical attention

Moisture lesion, i get this because of my PS scar. I heal it by keeping it dry, surgical spirit (this hurts) and sudocrem.

I've heard tea tree oil can be good to treat these, to reduce the boil - anyone any exper of that?

Oh my goodness. I think my son would actually kill me if I posted his bum on the internet!🤣🤣

If he found out
What he doesn't know won't hurt him - unlike that arse boil
