What’s this in my groin? *TMI alert*

This has been brewing on my groin all week. First felt pain on Sunday. Went to docs Tuesday but she couldn’t see anything and prescribed antibiotics.

Its come up to this now. Does it look like an abscess? It seems inflamed in a few areas.

Sounds like the antibiotics are doing their thing, salt water baths and hot compresses and something like Savlon or Sudafed cream.

Id keep a very close eye on it my husband had the same thing and it ended up getting 8cm big! He had to have an op to get it removed.
Id draw a circle round it and watch it if it gets any bigger are you in any pain?

Bear in mind it will hurt as it's coming to a head. Get yourself in the bath with a big handful of salt asap.

It’s tender but not as painful as it was before it came up. Is it normal for antibiotics to make it come to a head?

Yes, that's how it clears .

And is it supposed to burst? Sorry I sort of presumed it would just disappear back into my skin!

Either is perfectly normal. Looks like it's coming to a head so do everything you can to help it drain.

So I believe the culprit is this TINY ingrown hair. I can’t believe it’s been so incredibly painful! Some swelling has gone now and this is the painful point. Would you carry on trying to get this hair to come out?
