I think that wants proper medical advice, maybe pharmacy (so much knowledge and lots are ex nurses and they see all-sorts of ailments) or GP

twistingmymelons · 10/09/2024 22:58

See a GP not a pharmacist. On the breast as it is, it could be a number of things.

SkaneTos · 10/09/2024 22:59

It is on your breast?

Please seek medical care for this.

SkaneTos · 10/09/2024 23:10

Again, a change in the skin of the breast can be something serious.

Please seek proper medical advice about this.

Thistooshallpass24 · 10/09/2024 23:26

I suggested the pharmacist, because getting Dr's appointment can be a two week wait, for maybe some interim advice

LurgyMagnet · 11/09/2024 03:04

Request an emergency appointment with the GP. It might just be a cyst that's burst, in which case you'll probably need a course of antibiotics, but it needs checking that it's not anything more sinister. Also draw around the edge of the inflamed area with a biro so you can check that it's not getting any bigger, as if it is infected it's important to know whether it's spreading.

Thistooshallpass24 · 11/09/2024 16:28

@Advicewelcome24 did you manage to see anyone?

Ponderingwindow · 11/09/2024 16:33

You need to go to your GP or an urgent care. It’s probably just an infected cyst. I had one once in my breast. I delayed being seen because my GP had no appointments. She didn’t yell at me, but I could tell she wanted to. She told me next time to go to urgent care immediately

Advicewelcome24 · 11/09/2024 18:44

Hi all, I sent a picture to my GP and had a phone consultation today. I’ve been given a course of antibiotics so hopefully that sorts it out. He’s told me to go back in 2 weeks if not. Thanks for the advice everyone 😊 I always worry about wasting the GP’s time!

You did the right thing, glad you've had it "looked" at , hope antibiotics kick in soon

Well done OP, that must have been a bit scary.

(Took me ages to figure out your photo! Am I right in thinking we can see the side of your hand, it’s covering your nipple and slightly holding the breast up?).

Yes, well done 😂 I was trying to keep it PG and anonymous (tattoos) at the same time!
