Is this fungal? Or warty? I keep picking it!

This is my pinky finger, it started as a small dry lump which I kept picking and a tiny round ball of what i assumed skin would comw out, very satisfying albeit odd . I am really bad for picking my skin round my nails. Then I noticed the nail looks like it's lifting and I thought oh no its a fungal thing on my hands! It's just this fingernail. What do the expert sporners think?

I get contact dermatitis and do exactly what you did. It becomes a vicious cycle and the skin never heals properly.

In your position I would use my steroid cream morning and evening, and really good moisturiser (I like O'Keefe) after every time I wash my hands.

I'll ask for something at the pharmacy tomorrow when I collect my prescription. Its not knowing what it is that's making it difficult to treat. If I could stop picking my skin that would help enormously.
