Infected?

Might not be gross enough so apologies. I got bit a few days ago swollen very itchy. The swelling has gone down but it's got a lot darker. Should I be concerned?

Do feel ill with cold like symptoms but assumed I'm coming down with a cold.

It's on my calf about 5cm squared.

That looks like it needs a GP especially if you have been feeling poorly. It could be sepsis but I'm not a doctor

If they are infected they normally swell, get very hot and the redness is more pinky and spreads.

But GP or pharmacist couldn't go amiss. Woukd be interested to see what they say

It looks like skeeter syndrome, which I have. Nothing you can do other than avoid getting bitten. In my experience, because it’s hot they generally prescribe antibiotics but they are useless.
