What do I do about this?

So DS16 had an ingrown toenail. He worke on his feet all day so I quickly got him booked into a chiropodist over Christmas rather than wait for a GP appointment. They cut out the ingrown bit but now it looks like this.

Black bits are sock fluff btw.

So who do we see now? GP or back to chiropodist? Or do nothing and hope for the best?

Soak in Salt flakes and warm water. Daily.

What aftercare did the chiropodist give?
My DD had similar at a podiatrist and had to go back several times over the next few weeks for dressing changes etc
After that we had to redress nightly after bathing in salt water.

That looks infected and in need of antibiotics. Ring 111 for an OOH appointment.

They didn't really. Just put a bandage on and said to leave that on for 24hrs and after that it would be fine.

Should be fine as it will help sterilise the area. Good luck

How is it now? If it's still bad he might still have a tiny piece of nail that was missed.

Thanks for checking. The Doctor has given him some antibiotics but due to him working shifts I havent actually seen him since he started taking them so I need to find chance to take a look. He hasn't complained about it anymore so I am taking that as a good sign.
