Wtf is this thing?!

First off - I'm not a sporner - but I thought the good people of this niche corner of the internet might be able to help!

I've had a sore tongue for a day or so and just had a look at it. Why does it look like I have something dangling off my tongue?! I tried pinching it off and it bloody hurt! I can't actually feel the thing itself, like on my tongue, but my finger tells me it's kind of solid? It also looks like it might be attached to a blood vessel hence me not wanting to play around with it too much.

Is it worth a doctor's appointment?

That’s one for the dentist really I think. It looks a bit like a skin tag to me.

I’m not medical - I must make that clear! Dentists are generally the ones to go to for anything going on inside your mouth and are able to refer to a hospital oral department if they think it’s needed.
