I’m having a wicked allergic reaction to something! Anti histamines helping a little. Not sore or itchy, just look unsightly!

Oh bloody hell! You've taken Piriton?

frankie001 · 06/07/2023 18:52

I have!! Lucky me, eh?

also to add, breathing is absolutely fine!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/07/2023 18:52

Thank goodness! Any idea what set you off?

frankie001 · 06/07/2023 18:59

I’m at the seaside so hardly any pollen, have no allergies normally so I honestly have no idea!

How odd, hope it settles down soon. If you take the liquid Piriton target then tablets you can take it multiple times a day which is helpful I find.

frankie001 · 06/07/2023 19:01

Ooh thanks! Will give that a go!

CMOTDibbler · 06/07/2023 19:30

Wow, that is impressive. I'd look up who is the late night pharmacy locally and go and get some allergy eyedrops which will be a bit more targeted

frankie001 · 06/07/2023 19:56

@CMOTDibbler i popped into pharmacy today who were pretty unhelpful! If it continues once I’m back home will see
my gp.

Have you slept anywhere with towels/sheets that might've been washed in a different detergent or softener? Hope it gets better soon!

Target? RATHER

frankie001 · 06/07/2023 20:38

We’re on holiday so could be laundry related. Strange it’s just the eyes though

Update from today! Much better, very dry but swelling right down.

What are the walls like in your room on holiday/where you sleep? When I moved into my house years ago I had similar...turned out to be dust on the wall in my bedroom!

Glad it's looking better today OP.

frankie001 · 07/07/2023 16:48

We were in a one year old caravan. On way home now so hoping it will clear up quickly now

Staggersaurus · 07/07/2023 16:53

Have you been on any coastal walks? There are quite a few plants that you might be allergic to. Alexanders and hemlock can cause reactions, and there is another one which is bright green but I can’t remember the name. I hope you get better soon x

TheFormidableMrsC · 07/07/2023 18:34

Salty air makes my skin very dry and sore, could it be that?

frankie001 · 07/07/2023 19:22

I’m thinking it must be the salty air, live in north London so not used to fresh air as much! 😂

OP posts:
nevisbump · 09/07/2023 14:15

My eyes do that with animal hair

frankie001 · 09/07/2023 20:13

I have 4 animals and hope I’m not allergic, haven’t been before.

today it’s the gift that keeps giving, while face is red and dry, burns when I’m applying e45 cream. Off to drs in the morning hopefully! Have had slightly cloudy vision today as well, which I’ve read can be an allergy sign.

Do you use topical steroid creams or ointments?

frankie001 · 09/07/2023 21:38

No, just moisturiser.

My eyes went like this when I had COVID.

inappropriateraspberry · 10/07/2023 13:07

Sun cream? I find my eyes get irritated if I've used it. Probably on my hands and then rub my eyes without thinking.

frankie001 · 10/07/2023 17:49

Went to urgent care today, after failing to get a gp appointment. 111 were excellent. They had no clue what allergy could be from, but have a super strength anti histamine, steroids and emollient cream.

last night was horrendous and felt like eye lids were inside out!

thanks for everyone’s input and suggestions. The dr found it hilarious that I may be allergic to the beach!

frankie001 · 10/07/2023 17:50

Also tried allergy eye drops which again just felt like burning.
