DH has this on his leg. We're on holiday and he said it appeared after the airport. It's pretty itchy and red. A little raised too

What's this rash

Anyone. I've reassured DH that this is the place for a diagnosis.

Bite? I'd use some antihistamine cream and see if it helps.

hedgehoglurker · 07/06/2023 14:12

Yep. Antihistamine (pill and/ or cream) or hydrocortisone cream would be my first call as I'd also think a bite or two. Reapply as directed.

If this didn't work, I'd try antifungal cream like canesten.

Tried bite cream with the antihistamine but it's not doing anything.

It's very weird. Quite a large patch about half the palm of my hand

I had that, mine was was sort of bumpy. Sudacrem got rid of mine.

It might just need more time and further treatment. You only posted this morning, so I think a bit soon to dismiss the possibility unless there are further symptoms or a change in the rash.

Obviously seek medical advice if concerned, but my bites usually last for 3-4 weeks. This is with daily antihistamines and cream applied several times a day. It wouldn't hurt to try the antifungal cream too. I'd just leave at least an hour between applications and follow the directions. (Combined creams are available too.)
