(Maybe?) Nasty bite?

I got bitten on Sunday several times - took antihistamine

I normally get a blister or a lump but I have a funny red patch on two of them - is this normal?

(Maybe?) Nasty bite?

I've just had a similar bite .. the pharmacist said to take antihistamine & apply ibuprofen gel

Bakedbeansandtoast · 01/06/2023 21:50

Do you normally react like that to a bite? Could it be a tick bite?

KatyMac · 01/06/2023 21:55

No I normally have a large hard lump and/or a blister this is quite new!

I've antihistamines till I'm blue in the face but ibuprofen gel is a new one, thanks

Looks potentially like the bite has tracked into cellulitis - see a pharmacist if you want but as a seasoned bites-into-cellulitis kinda gal, you need antibiotics to sort it!

Obviously a pharmacist may be easier to see/speak to, but they'll confirm if it is/isnt cellulitis and advise appropriately!

ZombiePara · 01/06/2023 22:02

Ignore all the fabulous lines, but this was my most recent one that went cellulitic!

I have another one slightly smaller on the other leg....does that make cellulitis more or less likely?

I saw the pharmacist and it is definitely on the mend

But I was right to check and if I have another one maybe I should get it checked sooner

Glad it's on the mend!

Definitely just keep an eye next time - i've found I'm more prone to it now having had it turn bad a few times than i was before!

Horsefly I'd say. Nasty

Ibuprofen gel is good on inflammation- as long as you don't put it on broken skin.
