How to get the best out of a boil

I've had a lump in my inner thigh for a month or two, a couple of inches from my groin.

Well today it was sore when walking and it's slowly moving to the surface I think! How do I get the best out of this thing? Do I slap mag sulphate on it now (Amazon prime order at the ready...), hot compresses? Am I in for a long wait, and do I do nothing yet and bide my time? This better not be underwhelming, I was very disappointed at how far within my leg it was when I discovered it some weeks ago, I thought it would be absorbed but it would appear not... It's not even a boil if it's within my leg is it?! But maybe it will turn into one when it comes closer to the surface 🤷🏽‍♀️

You know the rules.

Photo or it didn't happen.

Magnesium sulphate paste is much cheaper to buy in a chemist than on Amazon.

I clicked on this post hoping it was written a few days ago, so we would have an update on how your boil had popped with a torrent of gunk etc, but I was quite disappointed to see it was only posted an hour ago. Thus I fear we will need to wait a little longer for such an update 😔😁!

On a more helpful note, magnesium sulphate paste is good to use. Cover the paste/boil with a plaster and leave overnight. Also use a hot compress (as hot as you can tolerate). Hopefully it will natural ‘pop’, but do try to resist popping it yourself, as you can spread the infection under the skin (I’ve never, ever ignored this advice 😏!).

Obviously, if there are any signs of infection, please seek medical help.

Thanks for all the advice 😁

I think a photo at this point will be rather disappointing ☹️ the lump within is the size of a nice fat blueberry. We are definitely not in ingrown hair territory, put it that way. The top layer of skin is coming off, I guess due to the friction of chub rub as I walk 🤣 I will see if I can find some mag sulphate in the local pharmacy later...

I'm dreaming of the kind of lump that erupts and leaves an epic crater behind. Something just fascinates me about seeing inside. I had a c section a few years ago and was so desperate to see it but they wouldn't let me see any of it 😩

Hot compresses 3x a day, warm salt baths and mag sulph and cover with a non lint dressing and PHOTOS! 🤣
