As a sporner, I wanted to share my very painful infected cyst I'm currently sporting on my back. It's a recurring one, you can see the scar from previous surgery. It's about the size of a squash ball and deep underneath, hot and painful.

I went to a walk in last week to get it excised but they refused, giving me antibiotics and painkillers.

The swelling and pain is reducing but the cyst will need to come out, I'll go private this time.

That needs bursting, poor you Sad it’s a thing of beauty tbf but it looks immensely painful.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 12/03/2022 08:45

Ooh poor you! And thank you for your generosity. Will the private excision be available on youtube do you think?

Aphantasia · 12/03/2022 08:52

Oooh Christ that looks painful yu poor thing. If it makes you feel any better I had one under my eyebrow that made the lymph nodes in my neck swell away up, ‘twas grim

A week of antibiotics later and angry Hal is still giving me grief. Back in the doctors today to see if someone somewhere can remove it. I can't cope any longer.

This happened to DH. We got fed up, phoned our local hospital's private suite and were booked in to see the plastic surgeon the following day who removed it.

Much relief all round and bypassed all the faffing and endless pointless antibiotics.

also the surgeon let me assist which was brilliant

LaWench · 15/03/2022 13:03

Yay, got referred. In hospital awaiting drainage.

Jolly good. You will feel so much better.

LaWench · 15/03/2022 17:24

All done and bandaged up. I wish I could have videoed it but it was a single doctor doing the excision. It was a squirter with lots of green gunge and blood. Gross but sporner dream.

Is it all better now? I wonder what makes them refill when they’ve been surgically removed before, is it that the sac isn’t fully taken out?

Haveatakeaway · 04/04/2022 06:24

Yeah, it's if the sac isn't removed. My mum gets a small one under her armpit that she very generously let's me squeeze about every eight weeks. It's beautiful but only about pea size. I dread the day the sac comes with it Sad
