Hi, first time posting, I’ve been on this page for about a week trying to figure out my best way to go with my thigh spot.

Started as a bit of a boil, I tried the bottle trick and made it worse, it’s now a full blown abscess arghh!!

I’ve been to the walk in yesterday and prescribed one set of antibiotics went back again this morning as it was getting worse and prescribed another, but it’s just getting worse pretty Much by the hour, I’ve taken 3 pics one from yesterday and the two bottom ones from today, I don’t know does this need lancing? Will it pop on its own. I should also mention I have health anxiety quite badly and this is just making so terrified!!

Also how do I add a pic??

Hi Op, I’ve also had one of these. Actually I’ve had three. The first came up a couple of days after my Covid booster. Then every two weeks after. I had to take a course of antibiotics as my skin was boiling to touch(!)

I found the best course of action was to put a warm flannel on it to draw it out. Hope it clears up for you soon 🤞

Aww did yours feel really hard underneath the skin? It seems to have a head on it which it didn't this morning, inside I want to run to a&e but I know my family are like here she goes again. I am the boy who cried wolf when I do actually have a problem no one believes me lol

Hi, at first in looked like an insect bite….and then soon became apparent it wasn’t. Then had a head on it. Yes it was hard too!

My doctor got me to do a blood test as wanted to check it wasn’t a n immune response to anything. My bloods were all normal - but the blood test didn’t happen until two weeks after I’d finished the antibiotics 🙄, so who knows.

My gut feel is that the Covid booster triggered an immune response off in me. I’ve never had these before….

Go to a and e and have it cut out. They can grow really quickly. Get it seen.

You can add a pic by using the paperclip icon.

Go to A&E. I had one of these and didn't go soon enough...ended up with sepsis and had to have an emergency op to sort out the abscess. Twice. With hindsight I'd go to A&E sooner.

Thank you all, it's burst over night. How do I go about keeping it clean now? I'm already on 2 lots of anti biotics for it.

Also would you suggest giving it a bit of a squeeze to make sure it's all out?

Using sterile gloves and wipes?

you need to see a professional, squeezing could spread it and you don't know how deep the abscess is. does it still hurt? at least call your GP or 111 for advice

I've been to the walk in Monday and Tuesday and given 2 lots of antibiotics, I don't know how deep it is. I didn't squeeze im just cleaning it and covering it, if it gets any worse I'll go back
