Can pilar cysts go on their own?

I've got a few pilar cysts on my head and have been saving up to have them removed.

Today the most obvious one is much much flatter than it has been for years. I can still feel it under the skin though. Has it burst under my skin? Is all that Ming inside my head?! Will it just refill?!

I need to stop poking it....

Sorry, I know it's not technically spoken but I figured you guys were the experts!

I have a few as well and I do notice sometimes the biggest one feels bigger or smaller but it’s never completely disappeared on its own. I figured it was probably to do with hydration and whether my scalp was dry/tight and things like that? They do refill if you burst them and don’t remove the sac but I don’t think you need to worry about it bursting inside, surely you would have felt it? I did have one that must have got scratched, the stuff inside went hard and eventually it just came out by itself which is one of the most satisfying things that’s happened to me 😆

That sounds so satisfying @SpaghettiArmsMurderer ! I had one once that go infected and burst in a spectacular explosion and was eventually removed by a doctor that encouraged me to take a photo of it! He must have been a fellow sporner. Sadly this was way before I knew about sporner corner!
